Common questions
Does a matching checksum mean the GST registration is active?
No. A checksum only checks the characters and their relationship. This tool never checks registration status, legal name or filing history.
Is the GSTIN sent to a server?
No. Validation runs entirely in this browser and does not call the GST portal.
What does a legacy state code mean?
Some GSTIN state codes refer to earlier territorial arrangements. A legacy-code result is labelled; it does not establish the current status of a registration.
